Ingredients
- all-purpose flour - 60 grams
- water - 120 ml
- unsalted butter - 30 grams
- eggs - 2 large
- cheddar cheese, grated - 50 grams
- parmesan cheese, grated - 30 grams
- salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- garlic powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- fresh parsley, chopped - 1 tablespoon (optional)
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, combine the water, butter, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, add the flour all at once, stirring vigorously until the mixture forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.
- Remove from heat and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Then, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.
- Stir in the grated cheddar and parmesan cheese until well combined.
- Using a spoon or a piping bag, drop tablespoon-sized portions of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 5 cm apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until the puffs are golden brown and puffed up.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
