Ingredients

  • Swiss Chard - 300 grams
  • Olive Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Lemon Juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Red Pepper Flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Rinse the Swiss chard leaves under cold water to remove any dirt or grit, then drain well and pat dry.
  2. Remove the tough stems from the Swiss chard and chop the leaves into bite-sized pieces. Also, chop the stems into small pieces.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Add the chopped Swiss chard stems to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
  5. Add the Swiss chard leaves to the skillet along with the salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well to combine.
  6. Cook the Swiss chard for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the leaves are wilted and tender.
  7. Remove from heat and drizzle with lemon juice before serving.
