- Tomatillos - 200 grams
- Fresh cilantro - 30 grams
- Jalapeño - 1 medium, chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Corn tortillas - 4 pieces
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Remove the husks from the tomatillos and rinse them under cold water.
- In a saucepan, add the tomatillos and cover them with water. Bring to a boil and cook for 5-7 minutes until they are tender.
- Drain the tomatillos and allow them to cool slightly.
- In a blender, combine the cooked tomatillos, cilantro, jalapeño, garlic, lime juice, olive oil, and salt. Blend until smooth.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Set the salsa verde aside.
- Cut the corn tortillas into triangles to make chips.
- Spread the tortilla triangles on a baking sheet and lightly brush them with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden and crispy, turning halfway through.
- Serve the salsa verde with the homemade tortilla chips.
