Ingredients

  • Salmon fillets - 2 (about 150g each)
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Butter - 50g
  • Garlic cloves - 3 (minced)
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons (chopped)
  • Lemon - 1 (for juice and garnish)

Steps

  1. Season the salmon fillets with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add the salmon fillets to the skillet, skin-side down, and cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  4. Carefully flip the salmon fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until they are cooked through and flake easily with a fork.
  5. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  6. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and add the butter.
  7. Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  8. Stir in the chopped parsley and the juice of half a lemon.
  9. Drizzle the garlic butter sauce over the cooked salmon fillets and garnish with lemon slices and extra parsley if desired.
