Ingredients

  • Salmon fillets - 2 pieces (150g each)
  • Puff pastry - 250g (1 sheet)
  • Cream cheese - 100g
  • Fresh dill - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Fresh lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Flour - for dusting

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, dill, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 3mm thickness.
  4. Cut the pastry into two rectangles, each large enough to wrap around the salmon fillets.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
  6. Place each salmon fillet on the center of a puff pastry rectangle.
  7. Fold the pastry over the salmon to enclose it completely, sealing the edges by pressing them together.
  8. Brush the top of each pastry with the beaten egg to give it a golden color when baked.
  9. Place the wrapped salmon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and flaky.
  11. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
