Ingredients
- Salmon fillets - 2 pieces (150g each)
- Puff pastry - 250g (1 sheet)
- Cream cheese - 100g
- Fresh dill - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Egg - 1, beaten (for egg wash)
- Flour - for dusting
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, dill, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 3mm thickness.
- Cut the pastry into two rectangles, each large enough to wrap around the salmon fillets.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
- Place each salmon fillet on the center of a puff pastry rectangle.
- Fold the pastry over the salmon to enclose it completely, sealing the edges by pressing them together.
- Brush the top of each pastry with the beaten egg to give it a golden color when baked.
- Place the wrapped salmon on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and flaky.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
