  • all-purpose flour - 150 grams
  • unsalted butter - 100 grams, softened
  • cream cheese - 100 grams, softened
  • granulated sugar - 30 grams
  • vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • apricot jam - 50 grams
  • walnuts - 30 grams, chopped
  • powdered sugar - for dusting

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, softened butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
  2. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out one portion of the dough into a circle, about 3 mm thick.
  5. Spread a thin layer of apricot jam over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts evenly over the jam.
  7. Cut the dough into 8 equal wedges, starting from the center and working outwards.
  8. Starting from the wide end of each wedge, roll up each piece towards the point to form a crescent shape.
  9. Place the rolled rugelach on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
