Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 150 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 100 grams, softened
  • Cream cheese - 50 grams, softened
  • Granulated sugar - 30 grams
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chopped walnuts - 30 grams
  • Chocolate chips - 30 grams
  • Apricot preserves - 30 grams
  • Egg - 1, for egg wash

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, and salt. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  2. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and mix until a soft dough forms. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough into a rectangle, about 5mm thick.
  5. Spread the apricot preserves evenly over the dough, leaving a 1cm border around the edges.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped walnuts and chocolate chips over the preserves, followed by the ground cinnamon.
  7. Cut the dough into 8 triangles (like a pizza). Starting from the wide end, roll each triangle towards the point to form a crescent shape.
  8. Place the rolled cookies on the prepared baking sheet, brush the tops with a beaten egg for shine.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.
