  • Unsalted butter - 50 grams, softened
  • Cream cheese - 50 grams, softened
  • Granulated sugar - 15 grams
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chopped walnuts - 30 grams
  • Raspberry jam - 30 grams
  • Egg - 1 large, beaten (for egg wash)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, softened butter, cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  2. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled dough into a 1/4 inch thick circle.
  5. Spread the raspberry jam evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the chopped walnuts and ground cinnamon together, then sprinkle over the jam.
  7. Cut the dough into 8 equal wedges, starting from the center and moving outward.
  8. Starting from the wide end of each wedge, roll it up towards the point, creating a crescent shape.
  9. Place the rolled rugelach on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
