- granulated sugar - 80 grams
- baking powder - 1 teaspoon
- salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- unsalted butter, softened - 30 grams
- milk - 60 ml
- egg - 1 large
- rosewater - 1 tablespoon
- vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon
- powdered sugar - 50 grams
- heavy cream - 30 ml
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a muffin tin with 2 cupcake liners.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter until light and fluffy, then add the egg, milk, rosewater, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Divide the batter evenly between the two cupcake liners.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cupcakes are baking, prepare the frosting. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gradually add the powdered sugar and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.
- Once the cupcakes are completely cooled, pipe or spread the whipped cream frosting on top of each cupcake.
- Drizzle a little extra rosewater on top for added flavor, if desired, and serve.
