- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
- Pickles - 4 slices
- Mustard - 1 tablespoon
- Ketchup - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground elk meat, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Mix until just combined.
- Form the mixture into two patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the elk patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the gluten-free buns by toasting them lightly in a separate pan or toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked elk patty, slices of tomato, red onion, and pickles.
- Spread mustard and ketchup on the top half of the bun, then place it on top of the assembled burger.
