- Gluten-free burger buns - 2 units
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cheddar cheese - 2 slices
- Lettuce leaves - 2 units
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Pickles - 4 slices
- Mustard - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground bison, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the bison patties.
- Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C (160°F).
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the gluten-free burger buns in a separate pan or toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked bison patty with melted cheese, sliced tomato, pickles, and a smear of mustard.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
