Ingredients

  • Cauliflower - 1 medium head

  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. Remove the leaves from the cauliflower and trim the stem, then place the head upright on a cutting board.
  3. Using a sharp knife, slice the cauliflower into 2.5 cm (1-inch) thick steaks.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Brush both sides of the cauliflower steaks generously with the olive oil mixture.
  6. Place the cauliflower steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Roast in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and tender.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the steaks.
  9. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and slightly crispy.
  10. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
