Ingredients
- Pork shoulder - 500 grams
- Paprika - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Apple cider vinegar - 60 ml
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- BBQ sauce - 120 ml
- Hamburger buns - 2
- Coleslaw mix - 100 grams
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Apple cider vinegar (for coleslaw) - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
- In a bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Rub this spice mixture all over the pork shoulder.
- Place the pork shoulder in a roasting pan and pour apple cider vinegar over it. Cover the pan with aluminum foil.
- Roast the pork in the preheated oven for about 4 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
- While the pork is cooking, prepare the coleslaw by mixing coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, and apple cider vinegar in a bowl. Set aside.
- Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes. Then shred the meat using two forks.
- Mix the shredded pork with BBQ sauce until well coated.
- To assemble the sandwiches, place a generous portion of the pulled pork on the bottom half of each hamburger bun, followed by a scoop of coleslaw. Top with the other half of the bun.
