Ingredients
- Prawns, peeled and deveined - 150 grams
- White bread - 4 slices
- Garlic, minced - 1 clove
- Ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
- Green onion, finely chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce (Halal) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Egg, beaten - 1
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil (for frying) - 200 ml
Steps
- In a food processor, combine the prawns, garlic, ginger, green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Blend until smooth.
- Spread the prawn mixture evenly over one side of each slice of bread.
- In a shallow dish, place the cornstarch. Dip the prawn-covered side of each slice of bread into the cornstarch to coat lightly.
- Brush the prawn-coated side with the beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds over the top.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the bread slices prawn-side down.
- Fry for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes on the other side.
- Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels. Cut each slice into triangles and serve immediately.
