Ingredients

  • Prawns (peeled and deveined) - 200 grams
  • Lettuce leaves - 2 cups, shredded
  • Mayonnaise - 3 tablespoons
  • Ketchup - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 teaspoon (ensure Halal)
  • Hot sauce (optional) - a few dashes
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon for garnish
  • Lemon wedges - for serving

Steps

  1. In a pot of boiling salted water, add the prawns and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Drain and immediately place them in ice water to stop the cooking process.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using). Stir until smooth.
  3. Season the sauce with salt and black pepper to taste.
  4. Once the prawns are chilled, drain them well and pat dry with paper towels.
  5. In a serving bowl, layer the shredded lettuce on the bottom. Top with the prawns and drizzle the cocktail sauce over them.
  6. Garnish with a sprinkle of paprika and serve with lemon wedges on the side.
