Ingredients

  • Pork skin - 250 grams
  • Salt - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - for frying (enough to cover the pork skins)

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 120°C (250°F).
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pork skin and simmer for about 30 minutes until tender.
  3. Remove the pork skin from the pot, pat dry with paper towels, and let it cool completely.
  4. Once cooled, cut the pork skin into bite-sized pieces.
  5. In a large frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot.
  6. Fry the pork skin pieces in batches for 3-5 minutes or until they puff up and become golden brown.
  7. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  8. While still hot, season the pork rinds with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.
  9. Allow the seasoned rinds to cool completely before serving.
