Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 150 grams
  • Ground chicken - 150 grams
  • Breadcrumbs - 50 grams
  • Parmesan cheese, grated - 30 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Onion, finely chopped - 1 small
  • Parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
  • Marinara sauce - 200 grams
  • Sub rolls - 2
  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded - 100 grams
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped onion, parsley, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 2.5 cm (1 inch) in diameter.
  4. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Once browned, transfer the meatballs to a baking dish, pour the marinara sauce over them, and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. While the meatballs are baking, slice the sub rolls in half and lightly toast them in the oven for the last 5 minutes of cooking.
  8. Remove the meatballs from the oven and assemble the subs by placing the meatballs and sauce into the toasted rolls.
