Ingredients

  • 2 pork chops (about 200g each)
  • 200g mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Season the pork chops with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the butter. Once melted, add the sliced mushrooms and cook for about 5 minutes until they are browned and softened.
  4. Add the minced garlic and fresh thyme to the skillet, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat and add the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  6. Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the mushroom sauce over them. Cook for another 2 minutes to warm the chops through.
  7. Serve the pork chops hot, drizzled with the mushroom sauce.
