Ingredients
- 2 pork chops (about 200g each)
- 200g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Season the pork chops with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the pork chops and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the butter. Once melted, add the sliced mushrooms and cook for about 5 minutes until they are browned and softened.
- Add the minced garlic and fresh thyme to the skillet, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat and add the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the mushroom sauce over them. Cook for another 2 minutes to warm the chops through.
- Serve the pork chops hot, drizzled with the mushroom sauce.
