Ingredients

  • Pork chops - 2 (about 200g each)
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Butter - 50g
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
  • Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped

Steps

  1. Remove the pork chops from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
  2. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels, then season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Add the pork chops to the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and have a nice golden brown crust.
  5. While the pork chops are cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
  6. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  7. Stir in the chopped thyme and parsley, then remove the butter from heat.
  8. Once the pork chops are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes.
  9. Drizzle the garlic butter over the pork chops before serving.
