Ingredients
- Pork chops - 2 (about 200g each)
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Butter - 50g
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
- Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped
Steps
- Remove the pork chops from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
- Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels, then season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the pork chops to the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and have a nice golden brown crust.
- While the pork chops are cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Stir in the chopped thyme and parsley, then remove the butter from heat.
- Once the pork chops are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes.
- Drizzle the garlic butter over the pork chops before serving.
