Ingredients
- Pork chops - 2 (about 200g each)
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Heavy cream - 1/2 cup (120ml)
- Chicken broth - 1/4 cup (60ml)
- Dijon mustard - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
- Parmesan cheese - 2 tablespoons, grated
- Chopped parsley - for garnish (optional)
Steps
- Season both sides of the pork chops with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add chicken broth, scraping the bottom to deglaze the pan.
- Stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and thyme, mixing well.
- Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5 minutes, until it thickens slightly.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and combined. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
- Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
- Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve immediately.
