Ingredients

  • Pork chops - 2 (about 200g each)
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Heavy cream - 1/2 cup (120ml)
  • Chicken broth - 1/4 cup (60ml)
  • Dijon mustard - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
  • Parmesan cheese - 2 tablespoons, grated
  • Chopped parsley - for garnish (optional)

Steps

  1. Season both sides of the pork chops with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add chicken broth, scraping the bottom to deglaze the pan.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and thyme, mixing well.
  5. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5 minutes, until it thickens slightly.
  6. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and combined. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to heat through.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve immediately.
