Ingredients

  • Pork chops - 2 (200g each)
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) - 2 medium, sliced
  • Butter - 1 tablespoon
  • Chicken broth - 1/2 cup
  • Fresh rosemary - 1 teaspoon, chopped

Steps

  1. Season the pork chops with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and cinnamon on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the pork chops and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add butter. Once melted, add the sliced apples and cook for about 3-4 minutes until they begin to soften and caramelize.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and add the chopped rosemary. Stir to combine and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the apple mixture over the top. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to reheat the chops.
  6. Serve the pork chops hot, topped with the caramelized apples and sauce.
