- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
- Red apple (like Granny Smith) - 1 medium, peeled and diced
- Cinnamon - 1/4 teaspoon
- Stevia or erythritol - 1 tablespoon (optional, for sweetness)
- Water - 1/4 cup
Steps
- Season both sides of the pork chops with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and thyme.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the pork chops and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Remove the chops from the skillet and let them rest.
- In the same skillet, add the diced apple, cinnamon, sweetener (if using), and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Cook the apple mixture for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and the sauce thickens slightly.
