Ingredients

  • Pork belly - 300 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Cheddar cheese - 2 slices
  • Lettuce - 2 leaves
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Pickles - 4 slices
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • BBQ sauce - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Score the skin of the pork belly in a crosshatch pattern and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Place the pork belly on a baking tray and roast for about 30-35 minutes until the skin is crispy and the meat is tender.
  4. While the pork belly is roasting, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly on a skillet or in the oven.
  5. Once the pork belly is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it into thick strips.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a slice of pork belly, a slice of cheddar cheese, tomato slices, and pickles.
  7. Spread mayonnaise and BBQ sauce on the top half of the bun and place it on top to complete the burger.
