Ingredients

  • Pork shoulder - 300 grams
  • Sauerkraut - 300 grams, drained
  • Onion - 1 medium, sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Apple - 1 medium, cored and chopped
  • Caraway seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 100 ml

Steps

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season the pork shoulder with salt and black pepper, then brown it in the skillet on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the sliced onion and minced garlic to the skillet, cooking until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the chopped apple and caraway seeds, cooking for another 2 minutes.
  5. Add the drained sauerkraut and water to the skillet, stirring to combine all ingredients.
  6. Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low, cooking for about 60 minutes until the pork is tender.
  7. Remove the pork from the skillet, slice it, and serve it with the sauerkraut mixture.
