  • Egg noodles - 200 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 50 grams
  • Poppy seeds - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. While the noodles are cooking, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until softened and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the poppy seeds to the skillet and toast them for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  6. Once the noodles are cooked, drain them and reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water.
