Ingredients

  • Ground turkey - 400 grams
  • Pimento cheese spread - 100 grams
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Fresh spinach - 50 grams
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/2, sliced
  • Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  2. Form the mixture into 2 equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to ensure even cooking.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).
  4. While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the whole wheat burger buns on a separate pan or in the toaster.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and top each with a generous spoonful of pimento cheese. Cover and allow the cheese to melt slightly.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, followed by fresh spinach, sliced tomato, and red onion.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your healthy Pimento Cheese Burger!
