  • Whole wheat pizza dough - 200 grams
  • Low-fat cheddar cheese - 50 grams, shredded
  • Egg - 1, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Dijon mustard - for dipping

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Roll out the whole wheat pizza dough on a lightly floured surface until it's about 0.5 cm thick.
  3. Cut the dough into rectangular pieces, approximately 8 cm by 10 cm, enough to wrap around each sausage.
  4. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper evenly over the dough.
  5. Place one turkey sausage on each piece of dough, add a sprinkle of shredded low-fat cheddar cheese on top of each sausage.
  6. Wrap the dough around the sausage, ensuring the ends are sealed, and place them seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Brush the tops of the wrapped sausages with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Serve warm with Dijon mustard for dipping.
