Ingredients
- Whole grain bread - 4 slices
- Turkey breast (sliced, Halal) - 200 grams
- Basil pesto - 4 tablespoons
- Fresh mozzarella cheese (sliced) - 100 grams
- Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
- Spinach leaves - 1 cup
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Preheat a panini press or a skillet over medium heat.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of basil pesto on one side of each slice of bread.
- Layer the turkey slices evenly on two of the pesto-covered bread slices.
- Add the sliced mozzarella cheese, tomato slices, and spinach leaves on top of the turkey.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Top with the remaining two slices of bread, pesto side down.
- Brush the outside of the sandwiches with olive oil.
- Place the sandwiches in the preheated panini press or skillet.
- If using a skillet, press down with a spatula and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve warm.
