Ingredients
- Ground beef - 300 grams (80/20 blend)
- Kosher pastrami - 100 grams, sliced
- Burger buns - 2 large, preferably potato buns
- Dijon mustard - 2 tablespoons
- Pickles - 4 slices, kosher dill
- Swiss cheese - 2 slices
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Optional: lettuce leaves - 2
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Form the mixture into two equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Preheat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
- Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned, then flip them over.
- Place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty after flipping, and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty is cooked to your desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, warm the pastrami slices in a separate pan over low heat until heated through.
- Toast the burger buns lightly in the same skillet until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers: spread 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard on the bottom half of each bun, add the lettuce (if using), place the cheeseburger patty on top, followed by the warm pastrami slices and pickle slices. Cap with the top half of the bun.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your Pastrami Burger!
