Ingredients
- Pasta (spaghetti or linguine) - 200 grams
- Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 300 grams
- Garlic (minced) - 4 cloves
- Olive oil - 4 tablespoons
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon (juiced) - 1 medium
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet, seasoning with salt and black pepper. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the shrimp, along with the reserved pasta water and lemon juice. Toss everything together gently until well combined, adding more pasta water if needed to create a light sauce.
- Remove from heat, stir in the fresh parsley, and serve immediately with additional lemon wedges if desired.
