Ingredients

  • Seitan (sliced) - 150 grams

  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Onion (chopped) - 1 medium
  • Canned diced tomatoes - 400 grams
  • Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh basil (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Parmesan cheese (grated, optional) - 30 grams

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the sliced seitan to the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until slightly browned.
  6. Pour in the canned diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and let simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and add it to the skillet with the seitan and sauce. Toss everything together until well combined.
  8. Remove from heat and stir in the fresh basil.
