- Kosher sausage (turkey or beef) - 250 grams, sliced
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Cherry tomatoes - 200 grams, halved
- Fresh basil - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving) - 30 grams, grated
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced sausage to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook until they begin to soften, about 3-4 minutes.
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and add it to the skillet with the sausage and tomato mixture.
- Toss everything together, adding a bit of the reserved pasta water if needed to help combine the ingredients.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste, and mix in the chopped fresh basil just before serving.
- Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
