  • Pasta (spaghetti or linguine) - 150 grams
  • Fresh salmon fillet - 200 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional) - 1/4 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the salmon fillet with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  3. Add the salmon to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and flaky. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  5. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic, along with the reserved pasta water, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss to combine and allow to heat through for about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Flake the cooked salmon into bite-sized pieces and gently fold it into the pasta mixture. Add chopped parsley and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
