Ingredients

  • Pasta (fettuccine or penne) - 160 grams
  • Salmon fillet - 200 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Heavy cream - 100 milliliters
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh dill - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated (optional)

Steps

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a bit of the pasta water.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Season the salmon fillet with salt and black pepper, then place it skin-side down in the skillet.
  3. Cook the salmon for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until it's cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove from the skillet and let it rest.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring it to a simmer.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice, chopped dill, and season with salt and pepper. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat it in the creamy sauce.
  7. Flake the salmon and gently mix it into the pasta, being careful not to break it up too much. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
