Ingredients

  • Gluten-free pasta - 160 grams
  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Gluten-free breadcrumbs - 30 grams
  • Parmesan cheese, grated - 30 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Canned crushed tomatoes - 400 grams
  • Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Dried basil - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, gluten-free breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 2.5 cm in diameter, and set them aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, and sugar. Stir to combine and bring the sauce to a simmer.
  5. Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let them simmer in the sauce for about 15 minutes until cooked through.
  6. Meanwhile, cook the gluten-free pasta according to package instructions in a pot of salted boiling water. Drain and set aside.
  7. To serve, place the cooked pasta on plates, top with the meatballs and sauce, and garnish with additional Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.
