- canned whole tomatoes - 400 grams
- dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- dried basil - 1 teaspoon
- salt - 1 teaspoon
- black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- fresh basil - for garnish

Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.

- Add the canned whole tomatoes (with their juices) to the saucepan. Use a wooden spoon to break the tomatoes into smaller pieces.
- Stir in the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
- Combine the drained spaghetti with the marinara sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed to achieve desired consistency.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil and optional grated Parmesan cheese.
