- Ground beef (kosher) - 250 grams
- Breadcrumbs - 50 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
- Onion (finely chopped) - 1 small
- Parsley (fresh, chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Canned crushed tomatoes - 400 grams
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Dried basil - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional) - for serving
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, half of the minced garlic, half of the chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 2.5 cm in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
- While the meatballs are baking, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the remaining minced garlic and chopped onion, sautéing until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, and sugar to the skillet. Stir well and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the marinara sauce and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
- Serve the spaghetti topped with the marinara sauce and meatballs, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and remaining parsley if desired.
