  • Fresh basil, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Red pepper flakes - a pinch
  • Parmesan cheese, grated (optional) - 30 grams

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped shallot, sautéing until fragrant and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for another 3-4 minutes until they soften.

  5. Add the cooked linguine to the skillet, along with lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
