  • Lemon (zest and juice) - 1 large
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Parmesan cheese (optional, grated) - 30 grams

Steps

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Zest the lemon directly into the skillet, then squeeze in the lemon juice, stirring to combine.
  5. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and add it to the skillet.
  6. Toss the pasta in the lemon butter sauce, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
