Ingredients
- Pasta (spaghetti or linguine) - 200 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic (minced) - 4 cloves
- Honey - 3 tablespoons
- Soy sauce (low sodium) - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh parsley (chopped) - 2 tablespoons
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving) - 30 grams
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Stir in the honey, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes. Cook the sauce for an additional 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until it thickens slightly.
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the honey garlic sauce. Toss well to coat the pasta and add reserved pasta water a little at a time if the sauce is too thick.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste, and stir in the chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
