Ingredients

  • Pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine) - 150 grams
  • Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Parmesan cheese - 50 grams, grated
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water and drain the rest.
  5. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss to combine.
  6. Gradually add the reserved pasta water, a little at a time, until the desired sauce consistency is achieved.
  7. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper, mixing until the cheese is melted and the pasta is well coated.
  8. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.
