Ingredients

  • Pasta (spaghetti or linguine) - 150 grams
  • Unsalted butter - 50 grams
  • Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated (optional)

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta.
  5. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic butter, along with the reserved pasta water, salt, and black pepper. Toss well to combine.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese, if using. Serve immediately.
