Ingredients

  • Spaghetti - 150 grams
  • Fresh crab meat - 150 grams
  • Yellow onion - 1 medium, diced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
  4. Once the spaghetti is done, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water and then drain the pasta.
  5. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the onions and garlic. Gently toss in the crab meat, lemon juice, and chopped parsley. If the mixture seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.
  6. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to taste. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
