Ingredients

  • Spaghetti - 150 grams
  • Fresh crab meat - 200 grams
  • Extra virgin olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon zest - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Gently fold in the fresh crab meat and cook for 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  5. Add the lemon juice, lemon zest, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet, stirring to combine.
  6. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the spaghetti.
  7. Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the crab mixture. Toss everything together, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
  8. Season with salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Toss again to combine.
  9. Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley and lemon zest if desired.
