  • Shallot, finely chopped - 1
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh basil, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (kosher) - 2 tablespoons (optional)

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic and chopped shallot to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  4. Stir in the fresh crab meat and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  5. Add the chopped parsley, basil, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Toss to combine.
  6. Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
  7. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the crab mixture. Toss well to coat, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
  8. Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
