- Fresh basil, chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

- Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (kosher) - 2 tablespoons (optional)
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and chopped shallot to the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- Stir in the fresh crab meat and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Add the chopped parsley, basil, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Toss to combine.
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the crab mixture. Toss well to coat, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
- Serve immediately, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
