- Pasta (any shape) - 200 grams
- Unsalted butter - 30 grams
- All-purpose flour - 30 grams
- Whole milk - 250 milliliters
- Shredded cheddar cheese - 150 grams
- Grated Parmesan cheese - 30 grams
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley (for garnish) - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in the all-purpose flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly to form a roux.
- Gradually add the whole milk to the roux, whisking continuously to avoid lumps. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Continue to stir until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Add the cooked pasta to the cheese sauce and toss until the pasta is well coated.
