- Broccoli florets - 200 grams

- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- In the last 3 minutes of cooking the pasta, add the broccoli florets to the pot.
- While the pasta and broccoli are cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, sautéing for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Once the pasta and broccoli are cooked, drain them and reserve a cup of pasta water.
- Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet with the garlic oil, tossing to combine.
- If the mixture seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan if desired.
