- all-purpose flour - 125 grams
- baking powder - 10 grams
- granulated sugar - 25 grams
- salt - 2 grams
- milk - 150 ml
- large egg - 1
- unsalted butter - 30 grams, melted
- maple syrup - to taste
- powdered sugar - for dusting (optional)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix; a few lumps are okay.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil.
- Pour about 60 ml (1/4 cup) of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2-3 minutes.
- Flip the pancakes and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the skillet and keep warm while you repeat with the remaining batter.
