Ingredients

  • Scallops - 300 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Unsalted butter - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Pat the scallops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add the scallops to the skillet, making sure they are not crowded. Sear for about 2-3 minutes on one side until golden brown.
  4. Flip the scallops and add the butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, basting the scallops with the melted butter.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley.
  6. Serve the scallops immediately, drizzled with the garlic lemon-butter sauce.
