  • Water - 2 cups (480ml)
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons (30g)
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon (1.5g)
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon (1g)
  • Milk (or plant-based milk) - 1/2 cup (120ml)
  • Sliced banana or berries - 1/2 cup (75g) (optional)
  • Chopped nuts (almonds or walnuts) - 2 tablespoons (15g) (optional)

Steps

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Once boiling, add the rolled oats and salt to the water. Stir well.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the oats simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the oats are creamy and have absorbed most of the water.
  4. Stir in the honey and cinnamon, mixing well until fully incorporated.
  5. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the milk until desired creaminess is achieved.
  6. Serve the oatmeal in bowls, topped with sliced banana or berries, and sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.
